St Mary's Church of England Primary School

A school with “a very strong Christian ethos”

As a church-aided school, St Mary’s is inspected by the National Society for Promoting Religious Education. This is in addition to the Ofsted inspection that all state schools receive.

The most recent inspection was in June 2010. In his summary judgement, the inspector concluded:

“The school is well-led, staff members are very committed and all stakeholders are proud of their school. Relationships within the school are very good and this creates a positive environment in which the children thrive under the school’s maxim, “Connect, Inspire, Empower.” Individual pupils are supported, nurtured and cherished. There are very good relationships with the parish priest and the foundation governors, who have important roles within the school.”
